Even in this economy, my family, albeit having bills, mortgage and car payments has managed to live a relatively comfortable life compared to some. Had my husband and I knew then what we know now about handling finances, had we been educated early on, we probably would have avoided the trappings of a debt-filled lifestyle. Older and wiser, we hope that by telling our story and by involving our children in the process of correcting our mistakes, they will grow up far better and prepared in life than their folks.
