Tandoori Naan Pork BBQ Pizza

“Dullness is the spice of life. Which is why we must always use other spices.”

David Levithan

My husband commented that the oven roasted skewered pork I made tasted like a Tandoori. I’m not surprised by this. I told him that the marinade I made for the pork had highlights of garlic, cumin, chili, and ground coriander which are also just some of the main spices used in making the bold flavors of Tandoori Chicken.

I made a Tandoori-inspired Naan Pizza using store bought Naan bread and Vodka pizza sauce as the base. I used a mild cheddar cheese and a small amount of shredded Pecorino Romano as binders for the toppings and the bread. To finish off, I drizzled on to the pizza a Tandoori flavored aioli (a blend of yogurt and Tandoori marinade). I made my own, but for convenience, you can use a store bought Tandoori sauce.

Since the pork loin utilized in this recipe was purchased last December 2016 at a sale price, the total estimated cost for this dish came to only under $5.00 and it fed five people.
